Campaign for America's Wilderness Policy Director Doug Scott and Field Director Carrie Sandstedt participated in workshops and panel discussions last week at the 51st annual convention of the Montana Wilderness Association, in Missoula.
Carrie was joined by MWA Wilderness Campaign Director, Gabe Furshong, for a look at the fundamentals of organizing and what makes a campaign successful, with special focus on the Blackfoot Clearwater Landscape Stewardship Project in Montana.
Doug led a panel discussion with three young people, to consider how to more effectively reach out and involve students of all ages. He was joined by Hellgate High School freshman Andrew Simmons, Zack Porter, who attends the University of Montana, and Julia Seaward, who works for the Montana Conservation Corps.
MWA volunteers were honored by past president Gerry Jennings for their commitment to conservation, including Phil Hough, Chairman of Friends of Scotchman Peaks.
