Pam Nelson is being honored this month for her years of work to protect California's Beauty Mountain, a stunning haven of wilderness just south of Palm Springs. The Riverside County portion of Beauty Mountain was recently designated wilderness as part of the California Desert and Mountain Heritage Act, included in the omnibus lands bill signed by the President last month.

A longtime resident of Riverside County and a lifelong conservationist, Pam has been a dedicated advocate for Beauty Mountain, traveling to Washington, DC to talk to lawmakers about the importance of protecting wild lands in California. The Beauty Mountain success story is proof that one person can truly make a difference. Pam's work has paid off for future Californians who will forever be able to experience and explore the wonders of Beauty Mountain.
