In honor of the 45th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act, the Campaign for America's Wilderness held a photo contest, with the winning photo becoming an anniversary poster. We received amazing photos from around the country, depicting a wide range of favorite wilderness areas. By a close staff vote, Peter Polson was our winner, with his photo of the Denali Wilderness in Alaska.
Peter is from Seattle and works in technology, but spends a lot of time with his wife in their cabin outside the Denali Wilderness. He also loves to visit the Alpine Lakes wilderness in Washington. "A trip into the wilderness always pulls me into another world, one not centered around the human clock and material objects. It is a world still full of mystery that is both humbling and inspiring," he says.
Congratulations Peter!
