Pending wilderness legislation in Congress has drawn the interest of radio and television news sources, with Mike Matz recently appearing on the television program "Voice of America" and being interviewed on the Outdoor Talk Network.

Mike Matz spoke with “Voice of America” for a July 25 piece on pending wilderness legislation in Congress. Matz discussed the broader picture of wilderness and why it is important to protect places like the Eastern Sierras in California, Tumacacoris in Arizona and West Virginia’s Monongahela National Forest. Dave Saville with the West Virginia Wilderness Coalition highlighted proposed wilderness areas in the Monongahela National Forest and what wilderness designation means at the local level. Watch the segment on the program's website, or view an archived copy here once the live version is taken down.

Radio host Jim Slinsky and Mike Matz also took time to discuss wilderness and the status of wilderness legislation in Congress for Jim's sportsman-oriented radio program. Jim and Mike cover a lot of interesting ground in their nearly hour-long conversation.
