Mike Matz recently spoke with “Voice of America” for a July 25 piece on pending wilderness legislation [1] in Congress. Matz discussed the broader picture of wilderness and why it is important to protect places like the Eastern Sierras in California, Tumacacoris in Arizona and West Virginia’s Monongahela National Forest.

Dave Saville with the West Virginia Wilderness Coalition [2] highlighted proposed wilderness areas in the Monongahela National Forest and what wilderness designation means at the local level.
